An Inspiring Natural Hair Blog | Welcome to Edenic Essence
It’s been over two years since my last post over at our previous natural hair blog which was known as African Edenic Hair Care where I was still dipping my toes into these blogging waters. For those who have been patiently waiting for our comeback this is an exciting day coz we are back and I’m confident to say we are here to stay.
What is Edenic Essence?
To those who are meeting us for the first time, Edenic Essence is a platform that informs, celebrates and shares about all things related to African hair care. With millions of rands and dollars spent every year by the black world on dangerous hair products, natural hair education is becoming more relevant, not only for us to teach and share with one another but more importantly to model to our children too. Based in South Africa, our content has a locally lekker flavour, without compromising on international appeal.
Our Name : Many might not know that the borders of the Garden of Eden are right here on the Mother Continent, so in restoring our African hair-itage and glory you will hear throughout this blog, us referring to Africa as Eden.
To find out who’s behind this new natural hair blog, read our about page.
What Edenic Essence is Not
Edenic Essence is not intended to diagnose and treat hair conditions and while our niche is hair care, we are not promoters of natural hair only, but of an entire African image. African hair has been used as a symbol of black power, but here at Edenic Essence we believe in the power of the African image as a whole. A wise man once wrote ‘With a new image comes a new dominion’
We’ve divided our content and its delivery into a format that will hopefully make it enjoyable for you to use our platform and create a predictable schedule for your anticipation.
Blog posts – these are the informative weekly articles that will clue you up so you can heighten you hair knowledge.
Hair Pantry – these are the DIY recipes that will motivate you to choose natural products by making your own or using them as they are. Natural ingredients can be expensive in South Africa so we’ll limit our ingredient list to one ingredient per recipe, yep, just one!
Hair Tutorials – these are video tutorials we will deliver to show you step by step guides for those how-to’s that simply need a visual aid. You’ll find all our video tuts nicely organized on our YouTube channel, so make sure you subscribe!
Q and A – here I will attempt to answer some of your questions.
